MLO 6:
Information Technology Literacy
The student demonstrates an ability to use technology in support of his or her scholarly work, including gathering, organizing and analyzing sources and employing appropriate delivery techniques in both written and oral formats.
6.1. Students gain knowledge of appropriate research methodologies and are able to apply them in their studies.
6.2. Students use appropriate technologies in research and studies relative to the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures.
6.3. Students collect, manage and analyze current and emerging technology-based resources to develop and produce their scholarly work.

Reflective Narrative
With the progress of time, technology has become the basis of mostly everything. It is of great importance, for us, as scholars to make the best use as possible of it. MLO 6: Information technology comes as reinforcement for our technological knowledge. This major learning outcome, specifically, asks for students to be able to demonstrate the ability to use technology in support to their scholarly work. The outcome is broken down into three particular categories which emphasize the knowledge to use appropriate research methods, to be able to produce research using the right technologies and to collect, manage, and analyze current technologies-based sources in order to develop and produce their scholarly work. The requirements for MLO 6 were met by me through the enrollment of CST 101(Technology tools) and WLC 400 (Major Capstone). In CST 101, I was introduced into various forms of appropriate research methods with the use of technology. I was also taught how to make formal presentation using tools like Power Point and how to edit and produce short videos for the sake of presentations as well. I also learned how to write annotated bibliographies, how to save research files and organize all your work in order to keep track of it and sustain it for further reference. Without doubt, CST 101 was complete course relevant to pretty much all that I have done through my scholarly work. It helped me create a sense of what type of work will be expected for me to conduct in Upper Division courses with the mere use of technology. On the other hand, WLC 400 served as a course for the final assessment and fulfillment of this major learning outcome. As part of our capstone work, we were required to write a research paper on the topic of our choice. I have to state that most of my reach work was done through the usage of technology (database research, internet research, library research using tech, etc.). In addition, for our presentations and oral assessments, we were expected to formulate a formal presentation using a Power point. And lastly, this particular e-portfolio has required the mere usage of our technological skills in order to be build. There is simply no doubt that technology has turned into a necessary and every-day tool in our lives. It is quite important to understand how to use it properly, especially when it comes to academic work and research. I will be sharing some examples of the work I was required to do in my CST course and also for my WLC 400 class. There, you will be able to view evidence for the fulfillment of MLO 6.
